summer walk

i've been sewing quite a lot this summer, and i thought i would start sharing some of my finished projects. (thanks for the interest to those who have asked!)

so, here is my new blue top,

here is mike with a happy fig,

and here is me with a gnat flying  into my face.
i used this pattern, with a couple of changes.  (leaving out the puffs on the sleeves, and making a gathered skirt instead of the one in the pattern)
i've made a few different versions of this guy.  i also love it as a dress, with short sleeves or sleeveless, and with or without the collar. oh so many options.

  1. So sweet! I love the collar!

Summer walks.. so nice! When I saw the title I thought of Anne and Diana and their rambles in the woods. Every time I read those books I want to take walks like them. :)

  7. SO cute! I am so glad you shared this. I have been looking for a non vintage pattern like that for quite some time but I've never looked at any Burda patterns!!! I have piles of fabric waiting to fulfill their destiny.

So many possibilites. I also want to start making alot of high waisted full skirts with a banded waist. So cute with colored tights and flats

  11. Ok...so after I saw this top I went and bought the pattern. And i am making it right now out of white crushed velvet :) Question... How did you go about taking the gathers out of the sleeve? Did you fold the pattern to exclude them and cut around it that way? Thanks!
