on monday we went to the beach on tybee island. it's been hot here already, but at the beach it was cooler and windy. i did my usual grandma thing; sat in my chair under my umbrella, all wrapped up in a towel so as not to catch a chill or get sunburnt, and read. while all the spring break kids ran around in their bikinis throwing frisbees and such.
i wore a new lavender dress i made. it's cotton and springy and swingy. i like it.
it was windy, resulting in a lot of pregnant dress billowing pictures. and then we also took the ever attractive jumping pictures.
it was a good day.
I did the exact same thing at the beach when we went to Corpus Christi. The water kinda scared me lol but I had a wonderful time just relaxing under the umbrella. I love your cute dress! AND I also love your new title banner!!! So darn cute!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAhhh, I need a beach day! That dress is amazing! You look lovely in lavender!!
ReplyDeleteYour dress is so cute! I can't wait to go to the beach this summer! :)
ReplyDeleteTybee Island is beautiful, I visited years ago. So glad you had a lovely time.

How lovely! I spend all my time on the beach reading too. :) What were you reading?
ReplyDeleteYour dress is so pretty! I love your salt water sandals as well. I used to wear those every day. I need more arch support now though. :(

Looks like a great day! I do the same thing at the beach. I don't want to mess up my perfectly pale complexion :)
ReplyDeletePlus, sunburns really hurt!
Oh to see the sand at the beach. I'm planning on going to my grandparents cabin on Lesser Slave Lake but, our time will probably be spent ski-dooing and building snow forts/igloos with my little cousins :)
ReplyDeleteOh how I love Tybee beach! I am in the process of making the move from NY to Savannah. I fell in love with that place. Great pictures and such wonderful light.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely day at the beach! It already looks so summery there, and your dress is beautiful! How fun....I've only been to the beach at Galveston when I was a kid...and the water was decidedly NOT blue!~
ReplyDeletethe two last pictures are lovely and
ReplyDeleteso is that dress (:
can't wait til it's warm enough for a
beach day here!
your photos are always the best!!! This looks like such a lovely day. And I am with you on the grandma thing. I sit under the umbrella, with sunscreen on and sometimes a towel. Being sunburned is one of the worst injuries ever ever! I shudder when I think of it.
ReplyDeleteAnd I have piles...shameful piles and piles of great fabrics. I have a hard time commiting to a project because nothing ever seems worthy of the fabric. I'm afraid of wasting it haha I need to get over it and get to sewing! Your dress is pretty. It looks comfy and springy. I have been looking for the perfect pattern to make a ton of dresses from. I should spend less time blogging and more time sewing!
Oh that just looks lovely- I so wish it was warm enough to do that here!
ReplyDeleteLove that first photo of you! Sounds like a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteit looks lovely! What pattern did you use for your dress? It is very cute and I love the color. I've heard great things about tybee island and I'd love to go someday!
ReplyDeleteyou are so precious, and so is that dress! i love the billowy "preggo" picture haha it's so cute! oh, i am always the grandma of the crowd. sitting in some shade with a good book is my idea of a beach day. sounds absolutely wonderful!
ReplyDeleteAwesome photos, Lindsi! Thanks a lot for having answered my question! ;) I love my slippers, hehe. And I have another question for you, do you, by any chance, make the slippers for babies/kids? Many of my friends in Argentina are having kids and I thought they would make a perfect gift. If so, what's the price?
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend! ;D
Miki.

ReplyDeleteThe photos are so lovely!
ReplyDeleteyou look so tender like an elf... and very nice

my husband and I adore tybee! we are hoping to plan a trip down there this summer.
ReplyDeleteI love the dress, and as always, the pictures, sooo funny and with beautiful colors.
ReplyDeleteThanks to you, I started crocheting some weeks ago, I'm getting addict to it, but I already started feeling some pain in the hands and arms. Do you have any advises to avoid it?
Waiting for your next post! :)

sounds like an absolutely lovely day! wish we had a beach near Phoenix to cool off at. I'm just like you though, so glad to hear someone else protects their skin : )
ReplyDeleteGreat job on your dress too, so comfy looking but so cute too, great color. Did you use a pattern to make it?
