Halloween

My costume this year was Little Bo Peep with my two little sheep.  Fig was in the depths of despair in her sheep costume and wouldn't even look at the camera, so we only got two phone pictures of her back.. but Plummy did pretty well, thankfully she is too young to know better. But this means I will have to get her a winter sweater to keep this whole wearing clothes thing going!

shop update: dresses

New jersey dresses are listed in my shop!   A chevron t shirt dress available in small, medium, and large,  and a buffalo check dress in x-small, small, medium, and large.
It's been so much fun adding clothing to my shop, and thank you to all for the kind and encouraging response! Be it on here, instagram, or in person. It's a little scary trying something new, so thank you!
I will be adding new dresses and tops as I make them, and will also be working on new crochet things for fall!

august

Some things I've been doing this month are:
counting down to our family/ 5 year anniversary trip coming up! this picture is a little old, and it's getting closer all the time. Which also means it's almost fall!

Working on some just for fun projects.. I finished the top of my first quilt, a patchwork in all different colors. I feel as if quilting might become one of my favorite things, and i'm excited to practice more and graduate to different shapes and patterns.

I also started a new crochet blanket, and discovered i loove doing entrelac crochet. It's the kind where you can work on it while you watch a movie, and you don't have to think too much. Which I think is always nice.

We also celebrated Mike's birthday on the 21st. So happy birthday Mike! We went out for pizza pie, and then came home and ate apple pie. It was all about the pies.

I hope you are having a nice August as well!

shop update: dresses

My etsy shop is back open with a few of these tribal print dresses! They are stretchy jersey knit, and very light and comfortable. And also, they have pockets!!
The fabric was limited, so I only have some available in sizes small and medium in this print. Here are the links for both (small) & (medium) if you'd like to take a look!

I am also working on finishing dresses in other prints and styles that i hope to post soon. There are chevrons, checks, dots and stripes coming next!  (and i will have more sizes with my next update too)

MN in June

A few pictures from my trip to MN in June. I got to see my whole family, went on picnics with friends, read, went out to lunch with my mom like it was our job, went on some walks and a couple of runs, and cut out a bunch of squares for my quilt. It was a wonderful birthday month trip!

Yesterday I turned 28!
I ate lots of desserts, got some nice treats from my family, went out to eat and watched two movies with Mike and Fig. June 5th is always a very good day.

summer reading

Happy June!
I love that one of the feelings I still get in the beginning of every summer is that it's time to read lots of books! Growing up, as soon as school was out I liked to always have stacks of books around and plan out which ones i would read next.

I thought this summer i would re-read some of my favorites.

The List:

My dear friend Kate gave me my first copy of The Secret Garden for my birthday when we were little, and i remember my mom reading it aloud to me and my sister that summer.

Anne! I loved the movies always, and read the books when i was a teenager and they are simply the best. I think summer is a pretty good time to 'be' on Prince Edward Island too.

This is a book my Grandma found at a school library sale. It's about two sisters named Sarah and Evelina and their family during the civil war. They are best friends and have a sweet little adventure in each chapter.

I grew up watching the June Allyson/Elizabeth Taylor/Margaret O'Brien/Janet Leigh movie version, (and the Winona Ryder one too!) and finally read it a few years ago. It was one of my favorite movies, and now also one of my favorite books. Marmee is so smart and wise!

A few from the Betsy Tacy series. I love these books! I just love everything about them.  One of my most common re-reads. Plus, they are set in Minnesota, so I feel pretty cozy when I read them.

American Girl!! I haven't read these in forever. I just finished Happy Birthday Kirsten, and now i want to have a birthday party just like her.  I plan on getting some more of these from the library soon. I think Molly and Samantha need a re-read too.

And there it is!
Are you planning on reading any old favorites this summer? or have any new favorites?
