macarons

today we stopped by a french cafe in savannah called Papillote to get some macarons. we were running all over doing errands and grocery shopping(which i do not love to do) and the delicious macarons gave me the will to make it through. plus then at the grocery store, the produce man gave us samples of this grapefruit/orange mixed thing called ugly fruit, and it was very delicious and juicy. so the grocery store is not all bad..i suppose.

and i will be going back to get more rons soon. i tried lavender with apricot filling, lemon custard, white chocolate raspberry ganache, and pistachio.yum.  my other plans are to practice up on making them at home, because i'm hoping to sell some at the farmers market again this summer.

  1. The macarons look so cute and delicious! I've always wanted to try them. :) I hate grocery shopping too - I wish my refrigerator would just restock itself. ;)

  2. Sounds like you picked the right ones! Yum! I've never eaten a macaron, not even when I was in Paris. I think I need to go back to taste them :)
How cool that you're going to be selling at the farmers market. I'd love to hear more about it come Spring-time.

  6. such pretty photos! I love macaroons, they are delicious! I am intimidated to try making my own though, I have heard they are difficult to do. I tried to make my own meringues once to no avail... Good luck! I look forward to seeing your version!

  12. Macarons are the next big baking trend I think. I've made them with varying success! When you try making them, def use a kitchen scale! Most recipes are by weight, good luck!

Thanks for your sweet words, and btw, I love your slippers :p. Do you think I can wash them? I'm scared to ruin them.

    Hope you're having a great week! ;D

  15. The macarons are so pretty. Are they as tasty as they are pretty? I would honestly just buy them for parties because they look so nice. I have never actually eaten one before.

  17. I love macarons, they are so decadent, especially the cost. ;p I saw some sandwich sized macarons at a farmer's market, but I don't think bigger is necessarily better. Have you ever tried big ones?
