back from vacation

well, i'm back from visiting my family in minnesota.. i had all these plans to do crafty things and sew the whole time, but i ended up mostly just reading instead. and i think i needed the rest from being out on tour,it felt very good. but i did get a few sewing patterns from my mom so i can keep learning after we get home at the end of the month.

today we're in mississippi on a day off, so i got out my crochet and made some little hair bows that i've been meaning to try for awhile.

and now i am going to go eat some burgers.

this skirt was my first sewing project. i had a few troubles with my sewing machine, but it turned out, and now i am very much looking forward to sewing more when we get back to georgia. we left for a two month tour on friday, so that won't be for a while.. but i brought some crochet and cross stitch to keep busy, and i'll be visiting my family in minnesota for a few weeks in september. my mom is a great seamstress so i'm excited to get some help from her.

mad muffins

today i made blueberry muffins, last night i was trying to think of what to do with all these blueberries i had and started thinking about muffins and couldn't stop.

i also had a sewing party with my friend vanessa, and we worked part of our way through the 2nd season of mad men, which of course inspires us to sew even more.

market bags

i've been working on a lot of different projects lately, and i made this market bag for mike to use for his laundry. but i like it so much i keep stealing it.

like today for instance.

i went off on my own to get some supplies, and town was very busy being the weekend. now i'm home, and tired. and about to eat.

i got some fabric today, so later tonight i am going to start a sewing project. i'm a little nervous, i'm just a beginner, but velvetbird inspired me.i will let you know how it turns out.
