It's me! 

 a few things going on around here lately:

It's spring! Ever since April started it's been warming up in Savannah.   I'm especially excited about this spring, because my family is coming to visit us at the end of the week! We try to do a family trip where my parents(and whoever else can make it) visit a different kid each year, and this year is Savannah's turn.  My dad has never been down here, and it will be fun to show them around. especially since they still have snow in MN!

 Crochet projects. I've been getting interested in tapestry crochet, and working on a little tutorial for a friend's blog.

 Always working on things in the apartment..here is a new work lamp so i won't go blind,
and Mike has been painting the kitchen white. He also made a new chalkboard to put up in there. Now I will always have a place to write out shopping and grocery lists, and i really like the schoolhouse green color.

 And..sewing. I always get in the mood to sew in the spring.
I got a whole bunch of black and white prints..i just can't help it.

pippa crown by manzanita

spring is the perfect time for crowns!  Rebecca from Manzanita and i did a little crown swap, and she sent me this pretty pale pink Pippa crown. (she's catching up on orders right now,but soon it will be available in her shop.)  i love how delicate and sweet it is. Rebecca makes the most beautiful crochet accessories, you can see a whole bunch of them here.

today also happens to be the first birthday of Rebecca's blog, (one of my favorites, full of craft diy's, outfit posts, and of course crochet) , and you should stop over there and wish Manzanita a happy birthday!

it's true

i live in the birthplace of America.
it's finally spring and today we took a bike ride up to Big Ole.
i even got a little sunburned!

here is a minty springy sweater i just finished! it's from the same pattern as a yellow one i made last summer. but on this one i added a peter pan collar and buttons all the way down.

we walked down to the thrift store by our apartment, which is in an old pretty southern house, to take pictures.

and the roses on the bush in their yard were just falling off everywhere, so i saved one. 

bike riding

today we rode our bikes.  it was my first time getting to ride the bike i got for my birthday. something about summer being way too hot, and then the bikes getting locked up all winter and the key getting lost..and mike finally giving up looking for it and cutting them apart with bolt cutters today.. and then us going on our first ride.

 so i'm glad we now get to pedal around and enjoy the nice weather and buddy trees, 

because this will be our last spring in georgia! 

yes, it's true.. we are moving by summer. and i can't wait! time to move on to new things.

now if only fig would be good and sit still in a bike basket! then everything would be perfect.

park days

hellooo,

since it has been so nice out, we've been going to the park a lot lately. and bringing fig. we walk around and around hoping to use up some of her energy, (and wear down her nails,since she squeals like a piglet when we try to cut them) and then we set out a blanket and big pillow and look around. all the trees are flowery, which reminds me of the white way of delight.
