december

it's the best time of year! a decorated apartment with lots of Christmas trees, Christmas movies playing all the time while i work on orders, and we're getting ready to travel north next week for the holidays. we'll be flying this year (with fig!)  and it'll be her first time flying, so we will see how that goes.. she's not a fan of being put in a bag. but who is really.

well, speaking of decorating for Christmas,  i wanted to share this tiny tree garland pattern i made.
i crocheted a couple of them, one in green to look like little trees, and one in black for a geometric look.

 crochet triangle christmas tree garland:

hook size 1.65 mm
number 10 crochet thread in one or two colors, for triangles and garland thread
needle

chain 2
row one:  2 single crochets in 2nd chain from hook, turn.
row 2:  ch 1, 2 sc in first stitch, 1 sc in next stitch. turn.  (3 scs across)
row 3:   ch 1, 2 sc in first stitch, 1 sc in each stitch across. turn. (4 scs across)
rows 4-9: repeat row 3  (at end of row 9, there will be 10 scs across)

slip stitch around the entire triangle to finish:
at end of row 9, turn,
ch 1, slip stitch in each sc across. (10 slip stitches across)
do not turn, ch 1, sl st in same place (corner made), turn the corner and make 8 more slip stitches up the side of the triangle along the edges of each former row. (9 slip stitches)
(sl st, ch 1, sl st) in top corner of triangle.
turn the corner and sl st down the other side of the triangle along the edges of each row. (9 slip stitches)
sl st to beginning turning chain. fasten off and weave in ends.

use the needle to thread the triangles onto the garland. (along the back so the thread doesn't show)
